The 5 Most Useless Web Pages Ever.
John Jantsch at Duct Tape Marketing rants on a pet peeve of mine - wasting precious website real estate on useless stuff.
What’s useless?
- Flash splash pages….actually, any splash pages whatsoever.
- “Welcome” pages.
- Pages without headlines or content.
- Ambiguous Navigation.
- “We-We” sites. (Sites that talk about “Us” instead of how they solve the prospects problems.)
In other words, pages that are bereft of any useful information, and only serve the site owner’s ego. Pages that get between the browser and the content are actually more than useless: they’re annoying.
Take a look at your site. It it’s all we-we, slim content, and impossibly artsy navigation…you’re probably an advertising agency or marketing firm…or took advice from one!
