Write Your Own Testimonials

It’s an old PR trick: when you need a quote for a press release, you

a) write the quote you want to use first, then
b) ask the person you quoted if they would say it and OK it.

Nine times out of ten, the person says “Sure”. The one time he or she doesn’t OK your copy, they re-write a few words…and then OK it.

So why not do the same with testimonials? Write a glowing testimonial from the perspective of one of your favorite customers , and then ask them if they’ll “say it and OK it” for use in your marketing collateral.

That way, you get exactly the testimonial you want, and you don’t take up too much of your customer’s time.
