Is a blog a blog if you don’t offer your readers an opportunity to comment on your posts?

Short answer: yes. Lots of business bloggers want to tell their point of view, and don’t particularly want to know what you think or feel, so they shut off the comments feature of their blogs.

Not so at this blog! I welcome your feedback and comments!

Bonus: it’s very easy to post comments on this blog, and you can do so anonymously (if you wish). And contrary to common belief, you do not have to have to register with Blogger.com to post a comment! Just keep it clean and on topic, please (or I’ll delete ya!).

Here’s how to comment on my (and most other) blogs.

Below this post, you’ll see the underlined word “comments”. Preceding the word “comments”, you’ll see a number. If the number is 0, congratulations! Click on it, and you’ll be poised to post the very first comment. If it’s any other number, click on it anyway. The number just tells you how many other comments are ahead of yours. The higher the number, the more people have commented on that particular post.
So, your first step: click on the underlined word “comments” below this post.
On my blog, clicking on “comments” brings you to the comment page.
Enter your comment. Stay on topic, and be nice!
Below where you typed, you’ll see where it says to choose an identity. If you have a blogger account, you can use it. You can also click on “other” and enter your real name and web address — but only if you want to. Both fields are optional. You can also enter a fake name. Or, you can also enter “Anonymous” and keep your identity completely private.
My blog requires word verification, which helps prevent blog spam. So under “word verification,” type in whatever you see.
Last step: click on “Publish.” Congratulations! You have commented!

Most blogs work the same way, more or less.
