Get Strategic About Web Marketing
Yes, you will love the “done in a day” approach to tweaking your marketing tactics. It often yields quick results. And it also energizes your functional teams, letting everyone understand the latest trends in web marketing, as well as learn what is working, and what is not.
In fact, why not make “done in a day” sessions part of your annual internet marketing plan? Why not schedule “done in a day” sessions at least once a quarter?
And while I’m discussing strategy: what is your internet marketing strategy for 2007? What’s your plan? How are you adapting to Web 2.0 marketing tactics?
Which new Web 2.0 marketing tactics — if any — will your company want to pursue in 2007?
Your 2007 internet marketing strategy is critical. You won’t want to run internet marketing by the seat of your pants…or let it run itself. It’s not effective marketing.
New for 2007: Take the Coach Approach to Internet Marketing
You will want to be flexible. You will want to address changes in technology, and be prepared. You will want to conduct regular trend reviews.
You will want to schedule done-in-a-day sessions to let your team review what parts of your plan are working, and what marketing and technology changes you need to change. You will want to understand if viral videos, pay-per-click programs, RSS, blogging, podcasting, article marketing, white paper marketing, wireless marketing, or e-newsletters are right for your company in this coming year.
And if you select a few of these tactics as part of your strategic marketing plan, you will want to understand best practices for each tactic. And you will want to assign budgets, teams, tasks, and deadlines.
The new year is almost here.
My recommendation. Get a plan. And put your flexible internet marketing strategy into place, pronto!
And if you need help getting an internet strategy in place or energizing your done-in-a-day sessions — why, you know who to call!
Take the coach approach!
(But don’t wait too long….2007 is almost here!)
