The Number One Conversation Marketing Killer…
My friends had a conversation about conversation (hah!) over sushi and cocktails the other night… and one of our discussion points was “what kills a conversation?”
Our number one answer?
“Not listening”.
If your online marketing endeavors include “conversation marketing” — make sure that you truly listen to your audience.
Yes, this means reviewing your metrics to find out what resonates well with your visitors…as well as what turns them off.
But it also means making it easy for your customers to tell you what is on their minds…so that you can listen and learn.
Even if (especially if!) what your audience tells you might be unflattering… or shatters your delusions about your company, your products, or the way you do business.
Listening lets you be more responsive. Listening lets you be a better marketer, a better business person.
