Blogger out of Beta.

Yesterday, Blogger forced me to upgrade to new Blogger at my Maniactive blog site.

I pushed a button, and in a few moments, my blog platform switched from Old Blogger to New Blogger. And that’s for transferring over 300 posts. Pretty fast!

But I had a few issues with commenting this morning. I posted one comment, but two posts went up. So I deleted one post — and Blogger ate them both. Grrr. I reposted, and it was fine. But I had some ’splaining to do about my vanishing comments…

And while I liked the idea of the new labeling feature, I found a problem with it. When I tried to apply labels to old posts, I found that my Feedburner emailer emailed every subscriber for every old post I updated. That was one big email!

That’s not cool.

Thank goodness I only tried adding a labels on a few old posts. If I had done it to several hundred, I think I would have seriously annoyed my subscribers with one big, hefty irrelevant email.

Next up? I will try composing all my Blogger posts in Google Spreadsheets before I hit the publish button. Because today, I had to repost three times, due to funky layouts that didn’t present themselves in the New Blogger layout interface.

Sigh. Let the learning curve be short and swift…
