Brown Bag Branding
If you are like me, you tend to get more out of the informal connections you make at conferences than the formal presentations.
Many people do.
So why not save yourself the from airfare, hotels, time away from the family, and crummy coffee — by organizing your own informal topic-oriented conferences?
How about sponsoring regular brown bag lunch meetings with other professionals — whatever your industry might be? A local software developer I know has a terrific meeting space downtown — why not invite other businesses downtown to drop by once a month to chat about, oh, say –
- new issues in networking,
- what’s hot, what’s not
- worst tech investments for 2008
…or any number of interesting conversations about business and technology?
The only rule is: no selling! This is an opportunity for folks to get together and talk about a themed issue over lunch or coffee.
It’s a soft sell — you provide the building, the atmosphere, and the opportunity for professionals to meet other professionals. You subtly position yourself as a leader — while giving people an opportunity to network with others. They get to see your space, you get to meet them and learn more about their businesses.
You get to network — and go home at night!
Why not start your own conference today?
