Memorial Day Resolutions and Joomla!

Memorial Day Madness! I received emails and phone calls from quite a few entrepreneurs this week who have solemnly vowed that they are going to work on their websites and internet marketing plans over the Memorial Day weekend!

For those of you who asked – my online video series on installing Joomla! CMS requires Real Player for some of the segments. I’ve heard some ambitious entrepreneurial resolutions for this 2007 Memorial Day weekend! Here’s a partial list of what I’ve heard after the “I will”:

Install Joomla!
Add content in Joomla!
Upload new pictures in Joomla!
Get a blog editorial calendar in place.
Design a first draft of an email campaign.

Is it because gas prices are high, and working on a site saves fuel? Or is it the prospect of having three days with little chance of customer interruption that really fuels a resolution to work on the website?

And like most New Year’s Resolutions, will this Memorial Day resolution fade quickly — or will site owners see real results for their efforts? I know the smell of a barbecue or hearing a bass drum in a parade can lure me away from my laptop pretty darn quickly!

Well, if it’s rainy, I suspect entrepreneurs can get quite a bit accomplished!
