This Blogger Has No Shoes!

You know the old idiom “the cobbler has no shoes?” Well, in this instance, the blogger has no shoes! Sure, I’m barefoot as I’m typing this post. But that’s not what I mean.
I mean that I’ve been a bad blogger for a few weeks. I haven’t been keeping up with my posts. And I have two really crummy excuses.
1. Heck, it’s summer. I look at my site stats, and I see that historically, my visitation traditionally plummets when June 1 strikes. My audience returns in droves in September, but for the three months of summer, site visitation is slim. So, with fewer visitors, I slack off. This is a terrible thing to do, because it means that I’m kinda neglecting my regular readers. Sorry, guys!
2. I’m busy. Yup, I’m a busy girl. When my sites slow down in summer, I tend to do more consulting with clients. More clients + summer ‘tude gives me lousy excuse number two — at the end of the day, I’d rather be barefoot on the deck than face my computer for the few minutes it takes to type up a blog post. “I’m busy” means that I’ve been so busy doing stuff for clients — that I’ve neglected my own sites!
These are awfully poor excuses, and I’m sorry. I even wrote a while back that “too busy to blog” is one of the worst excuses for not blogging, ever.
I’m chock full of ideas, and I’ll share them with you more regularly. My summer busy spell is giving me all kinds of blog fodder! And don’t forget — I’d love to hear your ideas for posts, too! Drop me a line if you find the time…
But there are some butterflies outside my window, and someone just said “beer” — so I can’t exactly make any promises about how regular the posts will be this summer!
Best,
Laura
