Related Posts Plug In for Wordpress
This week, I added the free and useful Related Posts Plugin for Wordpress to this site. If I wasn’t so tired, I’m sure it would have taken me less than 30 minutes to install it and set it up!
What does the Related Posts Plugin do? Every time I write a new blog post, I select a category or two before I hit “publish”. With the Related Posts Plugin, my readers will see links to past posts that somehow “relate” to the article I have just written. I can select the number of posts to include, and whether I want to show some of the copy from the “related” post as a teaser. The Related Posts Plugin Auto-inserts related content. Cool!
Why use related posts? I decided to try related posts so that my readers can dig a little deeper…if you find a blog post useful and interesting, you can take a look at other content that complements the topic at hand. The plug-in does a syntax search to decide what’s pertinent, so I save time with every post. Except…
How well does it work? Judge for yourself — take a look at a few of the posts on my blog homepage, and see the posts that the plug-in judged worthy of a re-post. So far, so good — but I wonder how well this plugin might work if a blogger didn’t have an arsenal of posts from which the software could select…
I was impressed and delighted that the plug-in auto-inserted posts from years ago — it’s a fantastically easy way to gives some attention to older (perhaps long-forgotten?) articles. What do you think?
