Everything you want to know about Canonicalization…
Canonicalization is important. If you haven’t set a canonical at your site, do it now.
If you don’t know what canonicalization is and you have a website, keep reading.
In short a canonical is a URL naming convention. Are you www.something.com — or are you just something.com — without the www in front? It makes a big difference.
If you are just starting to build a site, set your canonical right away. Make sure your offine materials reflect your canonical. Your business cards, your stationery, your brochures.
Your canonical helps with search. It helps with branding.
And it takes longer to say “Canonicalization” than it actually does to set it at your site!
So just do it already!
