Michigan Woman Blogger

Michigan Woman BloggerI blog from my home office in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

All this activity definitely makes me a West Michigan Woman Blogger (as well as an international force ;) ).

But… do a search engine search for “Michigan Woman Blogger” — and are we ever hard to find! Many of the links at Google link to blogs that contain stories about objectified or victimized women in Michigan.

This is appalling! And unacceptable! So let’s change it! Here’s how…

If you’re a Michigan Woman Blogger:

  1. Declare yourself to be a “Michigan Woman Blogger” — in your blog. Blog has come to stand for “Better Listings at Google!”. And my past experience shows that a Google Blogsearch updates quickly — and shortly transfers more popular content over to its main directory. For example, I never blogged about Twitter 6 weeks ago — and today, my sites are at the top of the rankings for my made-up term “Twitter Challenge.” When Michigan Women Bloggers start publicly identifying themselves as such at their own blogs, maybe we can quickly eliminate the “women as victim or object” preponderance at the search engines — and promote a more positive, healthier worldwide image of what it means to be a working woman in Michigan!
  2. Comment, please. Use this blog’s comment feature to let readers know about your Michigan-based blog. Keep it clean, though. This blog is PG-Rated — so anything salacious is not going to make it past the spam filter. Remember, the point is to transform the image of women in Michigan — not to showcase low-quality content. If you have a thriving, active, and useful blog — and you’re a Michigan woman — I want to read your posts! I’m sure others do, too. Let us know who and where you are, please!

If you feel like, you can use the pink badge (above) to ID yourself and your post.

Totally!

I know a few MI women bloggers — but I’m slow to get a response. A meet-up would be just the thing befor the Michigan weather gets too rough…
