Social Networking Fatigue
Like many of you, I’m experimenting with Social Networking.
- I’m LinkedIn.
- I Twitter.
- I (sometimes) Digg — (though I think digging is a dude thing…)
- I have a profile on Facebook.
- And then there’s YouTube.
- And Slideshare.
- And Natuba.
- And so on….
And every month or so, a colleague or friend asks me to join another social network site — before I have even have time to build a profile at the social network site I just joined!
Is social media fatigue setting in — or do you have room for just one more? (Watch this 6 minute video on The Loop titled Social Networking Fatigue.)
And what about niched social networking – nothing general like Facebook or MySpace, but a social network that targets audience members who are focused on one specific interest? Say a social network just for body builders or boating enthusiasts? How likely are you to join a social networking site that focuses on just ONE of your favorite passions or past times?
Or are you burned out and backlashing on social networks already?
