December Means…Holiday Marketing Mayhem!

December is a ridiculously busy season for internet marketers. I haven’t been blogging much, though I have much to blog about! Maybe next month!

In the interest of time, let me use this space to quickly answer three burning holiday marketing questions clients have been asking this week. I won’t repeat the questions, just the answers:

  1. Sure, it’s OK to send your holiday cards in March. That way, they’ll stand out from all the others that came in December. You’ll be unique and more memorable.
  2. No, don’t respond to emails that tell you that your domain name is about to expire at the end of the year and you’d better click now to renew. Visit netsol.com, click on WHOIS, type in your domain name, and find out when it’s really set to expire. Domain name slammers are a scourge in the holiday season…
  3. You don’t have to send holiday email to clients.  Last minute, hastily deployed holiday marketing efforts seldom yield positive results. Spam surges in the holiday season: don’t add to the mayhem if you don’t really have anything meaningful to communicate. Does anybody really have time for this crappy online holiday crud, anyway?

Start planning for next December today. You’ll thank me later.

Merry Christmas!
