It’s still a pop-up. And it’s still annoying.

It’s 2008, and I’ve officially had it. No matter how much I like a website, or want to read the link — if I’m forcedĀ into de-activating my pop-up blocker to open up a new browser window to do it, I’m not going to.

I’m done.

Webmasters, you’re on notice. If you force me to open up another window, I’m bailing your site. And I’m not coming back.

It’s just plain RUDE. Webmasters who do this dirty trick litter up my computer. They de-activate my back-button in the browser. They want me to hit “Popups okay” in my blocker — when they clearly aren’t. And when webmasters try to force me to open up yet another window, they might as well be screaming, “We’re scared our content isn’t good enough, so we had to trick you into staying at our site. Gotcha! Hah, hah!”

I don’t have time for weak content. I don’t have time for cheap tricks.

And I don’t have time for pop-ups. (Who does?)
