The Beauty of FaceBook Apps…
Sigh — less than 24 hours after telling FaceBook friend (and real live chum!) Elizabeth that I was not gonna add another app to FaceBook — I added two more apps to FaceBook.
So much for my resolve! And both apps have to something to do with beauty Here goes…
App 1: You’ve heard of Ugly Betty – now meet Ugly URL. FaceBook, my friends, generates some awfully ugly URLS for user profiles! The first application I added transforms those Ugly Facebook URLs into pretty, pretty profile URLs.
Here’s what I mean:
Ugly FaceBook Profile URL:
http://www.facebook.com/people/Laura_Bergells/824958297 (Yuch!)
Pretty FaceBook Profile URL:
http://profile.to/maniactive (Same thing. Only better…)
The Advantage of this app? Well, aside from being better looking, the pretty URL is a smidge more memorable. If you don’t have a beautiful Facebook profile URL, you can get your own by visiting my lovely, lovely profile URL above — and following the instructions.
App2: The Hotness App. I found out by adding the “Hotness” app which of my friends are among the hottest-looking on the web. Most of my friends are beautiful, beautiful people. Gorgeous! Stunning!
They put the “Face” in “FaceBook”!
Advantage: There’s not one single advantage to the Hotness App! It was just one of those snowy winter evenings, and goofing around in FaceBook seemed like the mindless thing to do. In fact, I mentioned last month that I seem to see more FaceBook “friend” action on Fridays — but this turned out to be totally wrong.
The real deal? I see more hopping on FaceBook on bad weather days! When snowbound in Michigan, FaceBook is the place to socialize! (Beats going out, hmmm?!)
Happy Friday!
