We’re having a heat wave! It’s about 13 degrees warmer today than yesterday!

My desktop reveals that it’s snowing. Again. And a quick glance out the office window makes me want to — close the blinds! Schools are closed. Some businesses are, too.

So why does my phone keep ringing? And why do I keep getting emails? Why am I busier than ever? Aren’t people at home, getting cabin fever?

In a word — yes!

Without real-world distractions and busy-ness, I find that many people are using the internet to socialize. They’re continuing to work — from home. They’re getting caught up on their online reading and researching. They’re playing games. They’re emailing.

How else is the internet helping those of us who are snow-and-cold bound?
